New Brunswick Children’s Foundation Donation`

For over 20 years the New Brunswick Children’s Foundation has been granting Pedvac monies to assist with its children and youth programming.  This year The NB Children’s Foundation has again supported Pedvac by donating $18,000 towards it’s Youth-at-Risk Programming, the school lunch programs for the children of food bank clients, the food bank, and the Christmas Box program.  Pedvac would like to thank the New Brunswick Children’s Foundation for its ongoing support.

How to Build and Operate a Three Bin Composter

Pedvac is holding a two part workshop.  On the Saturday we will be building a three bin composter and on the Tuesday evening we will be instructed on how to compost effectively. Learn how to use your waste to enrich your soil for flowers and vegetables.

Saturday August 20 – 9:30 to 11:30

Tuesday August 23 – 7 pm to 8 pm.

Day 1 – Friday, October 28, 2015

6:30 A.M. – Depart from the Port Elgin Regional School.  We cannot be responsible for vehicles left in the parking lot.

7:00 A.M – Depart from the Sackville Home Hardware parking lot.  Home Hardware is not responsible for vehicles left in the parking lot.

9:15 A.M. – Arrive at Irving Big Stop, Lincoln NB for half hour rest stop.

12:00 P.M. – Grand Falls, NB   Irving Circle K Big Stop for Lunch

1:00 P.M. – Leave Grand Falls

4-:00 P.M. – Set your watch back one hour before you reach Riviere-du-Loup, Quebec for 15 minute rest stop at Tim Hortons.

4:15 P.M. – Leave Riviere-du-Loup.

5:15 P.M. – Arrive Saint-Jean-Port-Joli to the Normandin restaurant for supper.

 6:30 P.M. – Leave for Quebec City.

7:15 P.M. – Arrive Quebec City at Le Dauphin Hotel and Suites, Quebec City.  http://www.dauphinquebec.com/en/ Settle in and then get ready to go.

8:00 P.M.  Leave for Old Quebec City.

8:10 P.M.  Arrive in Old Quebec City.  Check out the beautiful area.

1: 45 P.M.  Arrive at the Plains of Abraham.

3:15 P.M.  Leave the Plains of Abraham to be dropped off at the Chateau Frontanac. (2 minute drive)  Spend the rest of the day exploring old Quebec City.  Dine at one of the many cafes and other places to eat such as http://www.cassecrepebreton.com

Day 3 – Sunday October 30

6:30 A.M.  Wake up call at the hotel.  Enjoy their lovely hot healthy breakfast.

7:30 A.M.  Depart the hotel for home.

10:30 P.M. Set your watch ahead one hour before you reach Riviere-du-Loup, Quebec for ½ hour rest stop at Tim Hortons.

11:00 P.M. – Leave Riviere-du-Loup for Grand Falls.

1:00 P.M. – Arrive Grand Falls.  Irving Circle K Big Stop for late Lunch.  Following lunch get some exercise and enjoy the beautiful falls.

3:00 P.M – Leave Grand Falls.

5:30 P.M. – Arrive at Irving Big Stop, Lincoln NB for supper.

6:30 P.M. Leave Lincoln.

8:40 P.M.   Arrive at Sackville Home Hardware for drop off.

9:10 P.M.   Arrive at Port Elgin Regional School for drop off.

7th Annual Lupin Car Show

The 7th annual Lupin Car Show will be held at 33 Moore Rd., Port Elgin, NB on Sunday July 3 from 1 pm to 3 pm.  Admission free.  Come out and see the antique vehicles and talk to the owners.  While you’re there you can visit the 37th annual Lupin Quilt Fair and Market.

Lupin Quilt Fair & Market

The 37th Annual Lupin Quilt Fair and Market will be held at 33 Moore Rd., Port Elgin, NB on Saturday July 2 from 10 am to 5 pm and Sunday July 3 from 11 am to 4 pm.  Over 200 quilts, hooked mats, table runners, and catalons will be display and/or for sale. Thirty crafters will be selling their handmade treasures.

Thanks to the assistance of Spruce It Up Quilts we will be featuring the work of four sisters who come from Port Elgin:  Karen Anderson, Jean Hicks. Myrna Sears and Beth Sears.  They are the daughters of the late Kenneth and Elizabeth (Hayward) Sears of Port Elgin.  We will be displaying their quilting, rug hooking, tatting, crochet, knitting, smocking, needlepoint, crewel and cross-stitch all created in the Port Elgin area by the Sundby, Hayward, and Sears Families.

Delicious homemade soups, sandwiches, strawberry shortcake, and other items are available and there are two playgrounds for children.  Admission is $3 for adults, 1 for students and free for under 6 years old.

Come out and enjoy the fair!
